It’s quite natural that most of us don’t like to contemplate our own death, so people sometimes feel uncomfortable pre-planning a funeral. Yet most of us wouldn’t think twice about planning ahead in other ways to make things easier for our families – for example, taking out insurance against loss of income or accidental death.
In the same way, pre-planning a funeral can take away a lot of the stress on loved ones at a time of great sadness. In addition, many of us welcome the chance to nominate special songs or readings.
Keep in mind that pre-planning a funeral doesn’t necessarily mean pre-paying, although this is a good idea to take some of the burden off those left behind.
Pre-planning a funeral simply ensures that your funeral wishes are carried out exactly as you want.
