The cost of a funeral can vary considerably, depending on the decisions you make about the style of coffin, floral tributes, and catering.
There are certain costs that remain the same for any funeral (fixed costs). That’s your starting point. You then add the various options that you choose.
Fixed Costs (for funerals conducted Monday to Friday)

Service Fee
All funerals incur a fixed service fee.
At Wollongong City Funerals, this includes the use of our chapel and use of a room for refreshments; transfer of the deceased within 30 km of the funeral home; mortuary care (including dressing); a large artificial flower coffin cover, and a memorial book.
Note: Transfer of the deceased after hours or outside 30 km of the funeral home will incur an additional service fee.

General Disbursements
[Fixed costs for other people/places involved in the funeral]. This includes:
- Celebrant
- Cremation Fee (Wollongong City Memorial Gardens Crematorium)
- Doctors Fees for Cremation (No fee for Coroner’s cases)
- Copy of Death Registration Certificate
Options
You may decide that you prefer a different coffin, or that you would like to include refreshments. You might also like Wollongong City Funerals to organise a DVD presentation of photos showing various aspects of your loved one’s life.
Other options include: size and style of floral arrangements, after hours prayers/viewing; public notices, and a mourning car for family members.
